Pinterest Projects

This summer I was able to really get into browsing and pinning things on Pinterest. I didn't want all those great ideas to just sit there on my boards never to be looked at again, so I took action. I picked a few projects to start with that I wanted to do for my classroom. Little did I know that I would do so much, or have it lead to creating my own stuff to sell on TPT. That's another story though. Check out some of my projects below. To thank all the teachers who created such amazing resources you will see a link under each picture that will take you to where they came from! =0)

The first project I wanted to attempt was to create some teacher organizational binders for my materials and resources I use in the classroom every week. I was tired of rummaging through overstuffed filing cabinets trying to locate what I wanted, just to have it all bent up and ugly looking when it came out. My project was a big success! I now have 10 binders neatly sitting on my teacher's shelf in my classroom by my guided reading table, within an arm's reach! Hooray!!!! I've gotten lots of questions and positive comments on them!

My next project I had already planned on before summer started. I was putting this one off for a bit since I knew it was going to be rough. I packed all my classroom library books from school and brought them home to categorize properly, label, and put AR stickers on. This is what my office looked like. Aaaahhhhh!!!!!

It was pretty overwhelming and there were times I felt like packing them all back up and just forgetting about it. I kept on and pushed through. I was shocked to find out I needed more baskets since I had over 600 books! YIKES! Here's what some progress looked liked...

I'm so glad I didn't give up because they are ALL nicely organized and labeled. I even got the 3 requested bookshelves I wanted for my classroom. This is a closeup of the end result...

Library Bin Labels
Ok, so I didn't stop there...I was inspired now! I kept finding such great ideas! Here are just a few things I was inspired to do.

I found these cute food jar labels and thought...those would be cute on my cups for supplies at each table. So I decided to try downloading an Avery label template for some labels I had. I copied and pasted the design in and then added some text. I think they turned out pretty nice...so I made a few more and did this...

Labels
As I was pinning I noticed most of the cute things I'd found were in zebra print. Last year I had already done the Jungle/Safari theme, so I just decided to add more zebra stuff. Here are some cute things I found.
